Compatibility Task Pane

Article ID: KB101754

The Compatibility task pane allows you to check your site for HTML/XHTML and CSS compatibility; that is, it checks whether or not your site code follows the standards defined by the W3C. The task pane is a built-in way to validate your web site.

To run the Compatibility checker, click the green arrow button.

Then, decide what standards you want to check your site with (this will in part depend on the DOCTYPE of your web site pages) and if you want to check only the current page or all pages. Click Check.

After running the checker, results are displayed within the task pane. Each item shows the page and line number of the issue and why that code is not compliant.

As you fix the issues, you can use the arrow buttons in the task pane to navigate through the report. You can also click the Refresh icon to refresh the report.
