Installed FP2003 and Lost Your Templates?
Article ID: KB101220
If you "custom installed" the retail version of FrontPage 2003
and specified it to keep your older version(s) of FrontPage (2000 or
2002/XP), you'll find that all your old templates and themes seem to
be "lost." Don't worry -- the files are still there, but by
installing 2003, your older versions of FrontPage are also affected.
The older versions will look in the 2003-related directories for
themes, page templates, and web templates. Please see the
instructions below to learn how to move your theme and template
folders into the correct directories so that you can access them in
lower versions of FrontPage (as well as 2003).
Instructions for Moving Theme and Template Directories
1) Find the original or installed Template and Theme files in your
file structure. Look for the folders in the FP2000/2002 locations specified in
our
Installation Location support article.
2) Copy the folders from the locations above to the corresponding
FP2003 folders. This will make the files available in FP2003, FP2002, and
earlier. There are two location options in FP2003. You can either copy the
folders to your profile location or to the general FrontPage location. See both
options specified in our
Installation Location support article.
