Apply a Template in Dreamweaver

Article ID: KB101610

  1. To apply a Dynamic Web Template to a page in Dreamweaver, click on the Assets panel, then click on the Templates icon. You should then see a list of the available templates.

If you don't see the list of templates, it's possible that you need to Define a Site first.

  2. Then, drag the template you wish to apply and drop it on the page. This can be a blank page, or it can be an existing page that already uses a DWT.

  3. If there are conflicting editable areas, you may need to assign the existing regions to the template's regions.

  4. Click on the area names and assign them to where you want them to show up in the new template layout. If you want to get rid of the existing content in a region, then assign it to "Nowhere."

  5. Your template design will be applied to the page.
