Creating a FrontPage Web using a Page Template

Frontpage 2003

  1. Go to File > New...

  2. On the taskbar that pops up, click "One Page Web site...".

  3. A dialog box will show. Make sure that "One Page Web Site" is selected and click "OK".
     
  4. Your new web will be created, with one page called "index.htm" in the folder list. Delete this file.

  5. Create a new page using a page template.

  6. Go to File > Save (or Ctrl-S) and save this new page as your home page. Call it "default.htm" and click "OK."

    Note: "default.htm" is the first page that loads when you access a web site.


     

  7. This page will be automatically added to your web's Navigation.

    Now, continue to add more pages to your web, dragging them into your navigation structure.

    You may need to adjust the properties of your link bars. Go back to Page View and double-click on the link bars. The "Link Bar Properties" dialog will pop up. If you need more help, take a look at our Link Bar tutorial.
