Creating a Page With a Page Template

FP 2000 | FP 2002 | FP 2003
  1. Go to File > New...


  2. A taskbar should now show to the right of the window. Under "New page", choose "More page templates..."

     

  3. Choose from the list of page templates. If you have just installed a template, chances are that they will show up under "General" or "My Templates".


     

  4. Click "OK". and your new page will be created. Save your new page by going to File > Save (or Ctrl-S). Save the file into your web folder and save any embedded images into the "images" folder.

    Help! If you do not have a web, please read:
    Creating a FrontPage Web using a Page Template.

    Your new file(s) will now show in the "Folder List" at the left of the screen.

    Then, go to Navigation View. By clicking the rectangular "Web Site" tab at the top of the screen and then "Navigation" at the bottom.

    Help! Using Navigation View

    Click on the icon in Folder View and drag your page into your navigation structure.

     

  5. You may need to adjust the properties of your link bars. Click on the tab at the top of the window for the file you just added.
     

  6. Go back to Design View and right-click on the link bars. Select "Link Bar Properties". You may also double-click the link bar to edit its properties.

FP 2000 | FP 2002 | FP 2003
  1. If you do not have the right taskbar open, go to File/New/Page.

  2. In the right taskbar, under "New from Template," choose "Page Templates."

  3. Choose from the list of page templates.

  4. Click "OK" and your new page will be created. Save your new page into your web and save any embedded images into the "images" folder by going to File/Save. (If you do not have a web, please read our tutorial about making a web with a page template.)

    Then, go to Navigation View. Drag your page into your navigation structure.
