Creating a Catalog Layout
Article ID: KB101590
If your web site template didn't come with a "catalog page
layout," you can create your own catalog page simply by using
tables! This method is helpful if you have less than 50-100
products.
Please note that you will need some kind of third-party shopping
cart system, such as PayPal, in order to have ecommerce on your web
site.
Go to Table / Insert / Table. A dialog box will pop up where you may
set the properties of the table.
- Start with 2 rows and 3 or 4 columns. (The number of columns
you choose will depend on the size of your product images.) Set
the border to "0," cellspacing to "0," and cellpadding to "5."
(Go to the Basic Tables
tutorial to learn what these attributes mean.) Click OK.
- Your page will now have a table inserted:

- Click and drag across all the cells to select them.
Right-click and choose Cell Properties. Set the Vertical
Alignment to "top" and the Horizontal Alignment to "center."
Change the width of the cell to be "25%" (or 33%, if you have
three columns). The cursor will now appear in the middle of the
cells.

- Now, insert your product picture. You may drag/drop or go to
Insert > Picture > From File. Type a description, the price, and
insert a link to view the product in detail or to add the
product to a shopping cart. (See our PayPal buttons tutorial.)

- Continue for the other cells. You may add more rows by
hitting "tab" when you get to the last cell.
It's really that simple! You may format the content within the
cells further as needed.
