Modifying Theme Text Styles

Article ID: KB101333

How-to

  1. Go to the Themes customization window.
  2. Click the text button.
    FrontPage 2002 FrontPage 2003

  3. Use the drop-down list to choose what style you want to change, then choose a font.

  4. The drop-down menu has a very limited number of styles for modifying. To modify other styles or to create custom styles, click the "More Text Styles" button.

  5. The Style dialog box will allow you to define more properties of text and define more styles. You may even create your own styles.

  6. After you have finished changing the text styles, click "OK" to exit the color editing mode..

Tips

When you switch fonts for the text in a Theme, all of the fonts on your computer will be listed. While you can use any of them, if someone looking at your theme on the web doesn't have that font, Windows will replace it with a "standard" font. So it's usually better to stick with a "universal" font that most people will have.

These are very common fonts that most people will have on their systems:

Arial
Courier
Times New Roman
Trebuchet MS or Trebuchet
Verdana

A good idea is to specify "alternative" fonts - fonts that will be used in case the first font is not listed. To specify other fonts, list the fonts with commas in between them, like this:

Verdana, Arial, Helvetica

Verdana will be the main font used, but if the system doesn't have Verdana, it will know to look for Arial. If it doesn't have Arial, it will look for Helvetica.
