Apply Theme Dialog Box

Article ID: KB101253

Command: Format > Theme

FrontPage 2002

The Themes dialog box looks like this:

Options in this pane include:

  1. Choose if you wish to apply the Theme to all pages or to selected pages.
    • All Pages - the Theme will apply to all pages within your Web (but not to any Subwebs).
    • Selected Pages - the Theme will apply only to the page you have open, as well as to any pages that you have selected in the Folder List.
  2. Choose if you want to apply with Vivid colors, Active graphics, Background picture, and CSS.
    • Vivid Colors - Some themes have two color schemes - a "Normal" color scheme, and a "Vivid" color scheme.
    • Active Graphics - Choosing this option will allow your graphic link bars to have "rollover" graphics. Unchecking the option will mean that your button graphics do not change when the mouse is on them.
    • Background Picture - Some themes include a background picture. If you do not wish to have the background picture, uncheck this box.
    • Apply using CSS - Checking this box means that the font and text styles defined in the Theme will be applied through an external style sheet that FrontPage generates. If you don't check this box, font styles will be applied through the HTML <font> tag and will add a lot more code. (Note - Applying with CSS may result in certain font styles not showing consistently in different browsers. Test your site to make sure!)
  3. Modify - Allows you to make changes to the Theme and even save it as a new Theme.
