Why does the CSS-based page lay out wrong in FP or DW?
Article ID: KB101663
Question: Why does the CSS-based page lay out wrong in FrontPage or Dreamweaver?
Answer: For some layouts, it is likely that you'll find that the right
column content wraps under the left column content, or that menu items run
down instead of across a page, etc., when you view your page in Normal or
Design View in FrontPage or Dreamweaver. Unfortunately this is simply because
those editors are not as accurate or sophisticated as a normal browser. Often
FrontPage or Dreamweaver will add some space between the sections of a page
to assist with editing, but that may result in the layout becoming skewed. Until
Microsoft and Macromedia improve their programs to display CSS-based page
layouts more precisely, this is something that you will just have to learn to live
with. With that in mind, always preview your pages in an actual browser to make
sure that they look okay!
